I was visiting one of my blog favs, lines and colors - todays post was about Google's tribute to Windsor McCay, with their doodle; "Little Nemo in Googleland". You will also find info on the tribute on the blog, Wired. McCay was the "the pen" behind the early 20th century comic "Little Nemo in Slumberland" and among others, "the pen" behind one of very first animated shorts, "Gertie the Dinosaur". I am a big fan of McCay, he not only knew how to weild a pen, but had some of the best compositional sense I've ever seen.
Go to Google's search page and follow the downward arrows. Also, check out some of the links on this post, to get a good look at some of McCay's spectacular art.
